The Lancs and Lakes Guild is affiliated to the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers.

Our aim is to educate and inspire our members and others in the practice of weaving, spinning and dyeing as well as many other textile related crafts. We hold 10 meetings each year, which include talks by visiting speakers, practical demonstrations and workshops, during which, many aspects of our crafts are taught and ideas and information exchanged.

We are extremely proud of our library of over 300 books. It includes many classic publications no longer in print, as well as the most up-to-date books and magazines. All members can borrow unlimited books for no extra charge.

Our programme of talks include speakers on our principal crafts together with more general topics of interest to a wide range of textile makers. Workshops, lasting from half a day to four days, enable members to learn new skills from professionals.

Outside the meetings we organise exhibitions of members’ work and demonstrate our skills to the public.

We welcome beginners and experienced weavers, spinners and dyers to our meetings at
Yealand Conyers Village Hall, from 10.00am. to 4.00pm. on the *second Saturday of the month
