8 January – on Zoom
Renowned tapestry artist, Joan Baxter, in Conversation with Anna Wetherell.

12 February
Trish McCarthy from Artisan Yarns with a Pop-Up shop and talk: “My Creative Journey
– Explorations and Discoveries in Colour”; yet to be decided whether on Zoom or in the Room.

12-13 March
Saturday – our first physical meeting since December, with a presentation by Louise Dixon about the role of a mill based designer in the production of woven cloth and the Lake District Tweed Project.
Sunday – a weaving workshop led by Jan Beadle, this workshop is about pushing the boundaries to be more creative in weaving by using unusual materials such as bamboo, willow, wire, paper, fishing line, lycra and high-twist yarns.

9 April
Penelope Hemmingway: “The Lakeland linen industry revival the 1880s to 1920s”.

14 May
Caroline King: “My experiences learning and creating batik”.

11 June
Chair’s Challenge: Show & Tell: Make a Bag and /or “My lockdown….”.
Selection of pieces for the National Exhibition.

9 July
David Collinge, Chief Executive of John Spencer Textiles Ltd, Burnley. Talk “John Spencer – six generations of Lancashire Weavers”.

13 August
Members’ Day. There will be an afternoon presentation on Tour de Fleece, led by Kate McBride and other participants.

10 September
Trip to the AGWSD Exhibition – Leigh

8 October
Justine Aldersey-Williams from NW Fibreshed: Talk: “Home Grown Home Spun Project”

12 November
One day workshop led by Janet Phillips from the Threshing Barn: Spinning for Xmas
and Pop-up Shop.

3 December
AGM, Show & Tell and Xmas raffle
